FOGWELL v. WHELCH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Akaroa, Last Night. Akaroa is rapidly filling with visitors to witness the oontest for the professional championship of New Zealand, which eventuates here on Easter Monday between George Whelch, of Akaroa, the present holder, and William Fogwell, of Australia, the challenger. Both inen have been in active training on the harbor and showing good form, Fo'gwell showing a marked improvement on the form he displayed when defeated by Whelch for the championship two years ago. Both men are even favorites. There is every prospect of the fine weather lasting. Arnst will be here to witness the match. Besides the championship, there is a stake of £2OO a-side,! Fogwell taking £SO expenses in the! event of his losing. Whelch takes the whole of the gate, win or lose.
