RAILWAY EXTENSION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Thursday. The official opening of the TowaiKawakawa section of the Whangarel railway by the Hon. -Jag, Carroll took place to-day. A large number of visitors from Whangarei arrived by special train, including members of the Railway Commission and detachments of public school cadets. Kawakawa was decorated for the occasion. Speaking at the luncheon, Mr. Carroll held out great hopes of progress and advanoement of this part of the Dominion in the near future.
