Rebels attacked Aguaprieta on Tuesday night, and captured it after a fierce battle. Thousands of Americans watched the conflict from the frontier, and several spectators were wounded by stray bullets. The Federal headquarters werewrecked by an explosion during the engagement. The garrison of seventy gallantly defended the town, but were overpowered. The Federals fled across the frontier, and the Americans disarmed them. A report from Douglas, Arizona, states that American troops crossed the border and stopped the battle, after Douglas had suffered from the firing for three hours. One American was killed and several wounded by flying bullets.
