OKATO ItIFLE CLUB. I On Saturday the series of competitions for the married men's cup and for the silver medal presented by Mr. Grover commenced. The latter trophy is open to the tyro members only. The weather conditions were excellent and fair shooting was done at the two first ranges, but fell away at GOO yards. The only possible made was secured by Rifleman Jenkins at 500 yards. The annual meeting was held on Saturday last, about twenty members being present. Mr. J. A. Colmer, president, occupied the chair. The balance; sheet showed a credit balance of £2 5s 3d. The club had a record year, reports the Opunake Times. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: —President, Mr, J. A. Colmer (reelected) ; vice-president, Mr. A. Baker; secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. F. Shepherd. There was a good muster at the "range on. Saturday afternoon, the leg-in going to J.
