Splendid indications of petroleum mtyH reported to have been found' on Henry Weston's farm on the road. A few days ago Mr. Weston*™ farm manager, when removing from the ground, noticed a strong of petroleum coming from the role which the p'osts had been:. Mr. A. Watkins visited the place on and recommended the sinking of a l)n visiting the pit yastenlay a smell of petroleum was noticed when proaching the pit, and it was that on the top of the'water a able quantity of petroleum had luted. This discovery,.coupled with coveries of petroleum' indications in parts of the district from time to goes to prove tuat the oil-bearing are very widely distributed in amply .supporting the statements by Dr. Hell, Mr. (Seorge Adams, more recently by Mr. J.
