FAMINE THREATENED. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Brisbane, April 8. A wide area at the back of Cairns is submerged to a depth of several feet. The flood waters are now steadily receding. The damage to railways is so serious that it will be two months hefore Tegular traffic is restored. Meantime the back country is unable to get mails and food supplies, and is threatened with famine.
