ENGLISH MARKET REPORT. ;y Cable.—Press Angulation.—OopyrigM Received 7, 8.35 p.m. London, April 7. At Bradford wool is brisk, with a hardening tendency for crossbred. The wheat markets are fairly steady, and American is rather firmer. Chicago May shipments, 85s to 80s 3d. Australian cargoes sold at 32s 6d to 32s 10 '/ a d, and 33s l'/ 2 d. European buyers are inactive. Thirty-three shillings is asked for South Australian March-April shipments; 32s 9d for Victorian April-May; 32s Gd for New South Wales steamer, March; 33s 3d was paid for a South Australian parcel afloat, and South Australian and Victorian April shipment. Small trade is doing in Australian on the spot at 35s 9d, and in New Zealand at 33s 9d to 345. Flour is steadier and unchanged. Oats.—-Fine La Plata April-May shipments, 13s 4y 2 d. Butter.—Danish 120s to 1225; Australian and New Zealand unchanged. Choicest is selling well, but secondaries are practically unsaleable. Oheese.—New Zealand G2s; Victorian, 58s to GOs. A LONDON REPORT. Wellington, Friday. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., has received the following cablegram from their London house under date sth inst:— Wheat.—Sold at 325, c.i.e., handy Australian cargo. There is a fair demand and unfavorable crop reports. The out look is uncertain for the market prospects in Russia. We quote per quarter c.i.e. New Zealand whc.it: Long-berried Sis fid; short-berried 31s. Tallow.—We auote present spot values for the following descriptions: — Good mutton, 34s Gd per cwt.; good beef, 33s 3d; mixed, 325. Market quiet.
