CO-OPERATIVE PIG WORKS.
To the Editor. Sir,—J wish to heartily endorse your correspondent "Pork's" idea of establishing co-operative works at Moturoa for freezing and exporting pork and bacon, now that we are certain of the Home boats calling here. I see that the suppliers of one large dairy factory have held a meeting to consider the idea of combining in a small way. But whv not have one big co-operative concern, and do away with the middleman altogether and appoint a representative at Home? A large factory could be run very much more cheaply, in comparison with output, than several small ones, and the producers would most certainly uet a belter price. I think it the duty of directors of dairy companies throughout Taranaki to consider a scheme of this sort, also to trv and arrange a representative meeting in New Plymouth at an early date.- Tarn. etc.. CO-OP.
