A CHRISTCHURCH CASE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. I Christchurch, Last Night. The Magistrate gave judgment in a case which the validity of the by-law affecting meetings in Cathedral Squaru was called in question. The defendant asserted that he had a right to hold u meeting and deliver speeches in the Square, but the Magistrate held that the City Council had the right to make a by-law and decide to whom permission should be given to hold meetings, and that the by-law was reasonable.
