The City Council last night received lengthy reports from the medical officers and city engineer on the sanitary conditions of the town. As the present council's term has almost expired, it was left to the Mavor, acting with the health officer and Harbor Board, to appoint a good staff of men to attend generally to the cleansing of the town. It Is not proposed to take any action likely to cause a panic, but it is recognised that such a staff must be kept continuously employed until all risk of further infection has disappeared.
