PRESBYTERIANS HAVE THEIR TURN. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright Received 7, 12.15 a.m. Paris, April 6. When the colonial estimates were before the Chamber of Deputies, M. Auganenr, a former Governor-General of Madagascar, complained that Presbyterian missionaries in the New Hebrides combated French influence, and did not hesitate to arrogate to themselves the administration of powers. They established their own tribunals and prisons in some of the islands. Count Messimy, Minister for the Colonies, concurred, and characterised the facts as intolerable proceedings.
