TARANAKI RUGBY UNION. The annual meeting of the Taranaki Rugby Union was held at Stratford iott night, the president, Mr F. T. Bellringcr, presiding. Delegates present were: Hawera, Mr. O'Dca; Eltham, Messr*. H. Nuttall and Chalmers; Stratford, Messrs. Malone and Thomas; Inglewood, Mr. Boldt; Star (New Plymouth), Messrs. J. Clarke and Pileher; Waimate. (Manaia), Messrs. Mackay and Burke; Clifton (Waitara), Mr. T. Buchanan; Okaiawa, Messrs. O'Sullivan and Crowley; Kaponga, Eev. Scott and Mr. C. E. Betts; Tuknpa (New Plymouth), Messrs J. McLeod and D. Webster. The report and balance-sheet were read. Mr. Bellringer congratulated the clubs on the enthusiasm shown last season. Mr. Cargill moved the adoption of the report, and appealed specially to the clubs to arouse enthusiasm regarding the Bayly Scholarship. Mr. O'Dea -said it was a disgrace to Hawera and South Taranaki that only three candidates were forthcoming. Afteri the manner in which the scholarship was supported by the Wanganui Education Board, he regarded the attitude of the teachers as a slur on the Board. The adoption was carried. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officers resulted: President, Mr. F. T. Bellringer (reelected); secretary, Mr. P. Skoglund (reelected); treasurer, Mr. D. Malone (reelected); vice-president of the New Zealand Rugby Union, Mr. F. T. Bellringer; delegates to New Zealand Rugby Union, Messrs. Crombie and Cargill, Rev. Scott; auditor, Mr. A. Coleman; management committee (northern division), Messrs. T. Buchanan, J. McLeod, and Chalmers; southern division, Messrs. P. O'Dca, E. Burke and Rev, Scott. _ Permission was granted to the Eltham juniors to go on tour. COLORS. As several of the club colors clashed, it was 'resolved that the question be reviewed by the Management Committee during die season, and where there is a similarity, the club junior in registration be asked to nominate fresh colors. REFEREES' ASSOCIATION. It was resolved that it be a recommendation to the Northern and Southern Referees' Associations to combine, and in view of this, a conference of two delegates from each association with two delegates from the Management Committee meet at Stratford on Monday next at 8 p.m.; but, failing such amalgamation, the New Zealand Referees' Association he asked to approve of the Southern Association's application for recognition as a metropolitan body. •SATURDAY FOOTBALL. ' It was resolved that the question of Saturday football he referred to the Management Committee, and that a special general meeting of the Union be called to consider it if thought necessary. FOOTBALL AND DRILL. It was resolved that Messrs. Malone and Skoglund be empowered to confer with the Territorial authorities with a view to arranging football fixtures not clashing with drills.
