Nolan, members of the recently-appoint-ed Racing Commission, arrived here on Saturday morning, and inspected the local courses, two in number. They leAve again this evening for the south.' While here thev received a denization from the Tologa Bay Club, which place it was imnossible to visit. Probabl,- a deputation from the Wairoa. dull "-'ill wait on them at Napier to-morrow. Other memners of the Commission, who are at present at Rotorua, will join Sir Geo. Clifford and Mr. Nolan at Palmerston, and then the Commission will inspect Horowhenua course at Levin, leaving for the Nelson racecourses afterwards, and proceeding to the West Coast. They expect to return to Christchurch on about Tuesday week, where they will remain for some considerable time.
