LONDON WOOL SALES. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 2, 5.5 p.m. London, April 1. The wool sales closed strongly, prices being at the hlghesUlevel of the series. Compared wJth the January sales, choice Geelong combings were a penny higher; good greasy combing and good scoured, 7'/ s to 10 per higher; faulty "cart bonising sort« five per cent, higher; crossbred 7% per cent, higher. Other sorts were fully Ave per cent, higher. . ' Crossbreds and lambs were 10 per cent. "" higher. Merinos were live to seven and '' a half per cent, higher. The wool sold totalled 20,000 bales, for Home market; 72,000 for the Continent; 31,000 for America, and 38,000 wore held over. Included in the wool sold were: "Waiau" ' clip, top price fl'/.d, average fl'/ 4 d; ''Bry's," lOd and fl'/jd; "Poporangi," In and 9%d; "Wharanni," 13d and 10% d; ' "Wareklau," 10d and 14% d. -LONDON MARKETS. Lambs (Canterbury), light and medium 4%d. heavy sd, and South Island 4%d. North Island 4%d, best brands 4 7-1 lid. Beef.—Fores unchanged; hinds 4%d. Australian Sheep—Light 2%d; ewes unchanged. Lambs: best brands, 3V 4 d; others unchanged. Bee|—Fores 2%d, hinds unchanged. South American Sheep.—Light 2%<1; lambs unchanged. Beef.—Frozep fores 3d, hinds 4%d. chilled fores 3d, hinds 4%d.
