INDUSTRIAL INSURANCE
THE UNIONS' ATTITUDE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, March 31. The Management Committee of the General Federation of Trades Unions passed a resolution criticising Mr. LloydGeorge's proposals for insurance against ill-health and unemployment, and regretting that the Government did not invite the co-operation of the trades unions. The committee disagreed with the proposal for the establishment of sickness and unemployment funds separate from the general fund, so as to prevent the use of the whole of the union's resources during strikes, thus threatening their existence. They are also opposed to any scheme providing for Government interference in trades union affairs or management.
