STUBBORN FIGHTING
IN MEXICO. INSURGENTS' AMMUNITION FAILS. Bjr Oable—Pr«st> Association—Copyright. Received 2, 5.5 p.m. Mexico City, April I. El Paso reports that two days' stubborn fighting took place in the iieighborhood of San Rafael Sonora. The rebels outnumbered the Federal troops, but, owing to the lack of ammunition* were compelled to retreat. It is reported that a hundred were killed on both sides. The Federal wounded have arrived at Hermosillo. DIAZ CAPITULATES. GRANTS THE DEMANDS OF THE REBELS. Received 3, 1 a.m. Mexico City, Aprjl 2. President Diaz, in a message to Congress, outlined most of the reforms the rebels sought. • President Diaz agrees that there shall ,be no re-election of President. He favors electoral law reform, the removal of obnoxious provincial officials, and the improvement of the personnel of the judiciary division.
