RIFLE SHOOTING
RIELES v. VOLUNTEERS. The fifth annual match between teams of 20 men aside, representing the Vol- ' untcer corps and Rifle Clubs of Taranaki, was fired at Eltham yesterday. The conditions were seven shots each at ' 200, 500 and 600 yards. Each,side up to this year had won two matches. Yesterday the Volunteer corps annexed the third. They were successful at each range, winning by 19 points at 200, 7 points at £OO and 29 points at 600, a total of 56 points. The totals were: Volunteers 1872, Rifle Clubs 1817.
