'A man named Lloyd has been awarded £245 damages against Albert Gardiner, a Federal Senator, on charges of asiault and slander. The case arose out of the last State elections. THE SOLAR ECLIPSE. Sydney, March 30. The remainder of the Australian solar eclipse party has sailed for Vavau. PROTEST AGAINST IMPORTED • DOMESTICS. Melbourne, March 30. A deputation of the Women Workers' Association protested to the State Premier against the importation of English domestic servants. The Premier replied that there was a dearth of domestics. He was not a bit afraid of immigration lowering wages.
