GIRL DROWNS A POLICEMAN
A>f EXTRAORDINARY OCCURRENCE. By Cable—Press Association—Com'right. London, March 28. A girl arrested for stealing at MatJock, Derbyshire, jumped into the river. A policeman followed. The girl gripped him. and refused to release her hold, and both were drowned. A second policeman dived repeatedly into fifteen feet of water, but could not succeed in rescuing thein.
