TROUBLE IN ALBANIA
SEVERAL TRIBES RISE. By Cable—Press Assooiation—Copyright. Received 30, 12.10 a.m. Cettijne, March 20. Several Albanian tribes, rising, destroyed the blockhouses in the Tushi district, seizing the soldiers' rifles and ammunition. In one instance they captured three cannon and seized Tushi, whence the garrison had withdrawn to protect the blockhouse at Shipchamd. NINE BATTALIONS SENT. TWO OFFICERS ASSASSINATED. Received 30, 12.10 p.m. Constantinople, March 29. Refugees returning from Montenegro created disturbances at Scutari. Nine battalions have been sent to Albania. Shefket Torgut Pasha commands the expedition. Colonel Schlichting, a German instructor in the army, was shot dead at Constantinople by an Albanian soldier, who resented a reprimand administered him by the instructor for his slackness. He was arrested. A Turkish officer was similarly assassinated at Salonika by a reprimanded soldier.
