The Meteorological Offieo has issued .the following summary and forecast:— Rain fell in many parts of the country during Tuesday bight, and on the West Coast and in the southernmost districts of the South Island to-day, but though conditions are not yet settled, a storm area is apparently passing in the south. Nonlihexty and westerly winds have preTailed, the latter strong to squally in the south, with slowly rising barometer. Bresehl indications are for moderate to OTrong northerly winds northwards of Maw Plymouth and Napier; westerly arid southerly winds elsewhere. The .barometer will probably fall slowly in the north and rise steadily in the south. Unsettled and showery conditions are probable at times, especially in the far north and on the West Coast and in the aonfchernmost districts of the South Island. j
