The annual general meeting of the East End Card Club was held last even-j ing at the Red House Hotel. Mr. E.l Whittle presided. The report con-; gratulated the members on winning the championship and Cribbage Shields last! season. The balance-sheet showed a' credit balance of £2 15s 4d. The fol-j lowing officers were elected for the coming year:—Patron, Mr. W. T. Jennings,! M.P.; president, Mr. W. Sole; vice-presi-l dents, Messrs. G. G. Boulton, J. McNeil,) E. Whittle, P. Leaknd, A. Cliff, J. Avery and J. Smith; hon . secretary and treasurer, Mr. Alf. Lee; delegate, Mr.l E. Whittle; "club captain, Mr. E.l Whittle; deputy captain, Mr. K. Kibby; committee, Messrs. R. Colson, the captan, deputy captain and secretary. The] subscription was fixed at 2s Cd. The! delegate was instructed to support ai better method of assessing results of matches, viz., by wins at tables Tather' than by aggregates of games. Votes of thanks to the Press, honorary members, Mr. Dockrill, the Garrison Band, and the chair terminated the meeting.
