ITALIAN UNITY

MARKED BY CELEBRATIONS. By Cable—Press Association,—Copyright. Received 27, 10.10 p.m. Rome, March 27. Cannon salvoes at midnight ushered in the Festival of Italian Unity. The utmost animation was displayed in clubs and cafes, and patriotic demonstrations were held. Cheers were given for Italy and Rome, and the National Anthem was played. Many houses were illuminated. The Senate yesterday adopted, unanimously, an address of homage to the King, which stated that the virtues of the Monarch had made the dynasty one with the people, and added that devotion to the dynasty, which was formerly a matter of sentiment and principle, was now a tradition.

Signor Giolitti has formed a new Cabinet. The portfolios of foreign affairs, war and marine remain unchanged.
