SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Preg» A*socia*i«. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Offioe has issued the following summary and forecast:— High barometric pressure has prevailed, especially in the north, but the barometer has been very unsteady in the extreme south, with squally westerly winds and showers. Fair weather has prevailed elsewhere. Present indications are for stormy weather generally; Increasing cloudiness will probably be followed by heavy rain in most parts ol the country; especially on the West Coast, and snow in the high country. Northerly winds, increasing strong to gale, and probably heavy in and southward of Cook Strait. The barometer will probably fall fast and become very low, especially in the south.
