MURDER AND SUICIDE
HUSBAND AND WIFE. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. London, March 25. Mr. and Mrs. Berndt were discovered dead in a lonely villa near Bethersden, Kent. The husband had apparently shot his wife and then committed suicide. It is stated that Berndt was a stockbroker, that he had been in Australia, and was interested in racing. Brandt left a letter stating that his wife was suffering from hallucinations that everybody was her enemy. He was unable to sec her suffer, and had decided to kill her and then commit suicide. A verdict was returned at the inquest to that effect.
