KAISER AS A HERO.
STAGED IX A BLAY IX THE EAST EXn OF BERLIX. Berlin, January 25. "The Kaiser" is the title of a new political drama by Hans Kahlenberg and Hans Olden, which is to be produced on February 2 in the Schiller Theatre, Berlin. Although the Kaiser is the central figure of the play, the censor has given approval, probably owing to the fact that William IT. is portrayed in favorable colors. The Schiller Theatre is situated in the East End of Berlin, and the whole tendency of the play is democratic, and thus calculated to please the regular patrons of the establishment. Tho authors describe the efforts of their Imperial hero to transform Germany into a modern constitutional conntry with purely representative government on parliamentary lines, while a small circle of Prussian reactionaries resist his attempts, and finally frustrate them. The Kaiser and the masses of the, nation together prove weaker than the' powerful reactionary clique, with the result that popular indignation, finds vent in a rebellion.
