THE ASSOCIATION COUNCIL. By Telegraph.— L'n-w Association. Wellington, Last Night. The council of the New Zealand Football Association this evening revised their rules. The council will in future consist of seven, elected at the annual meeting of delegates. The allocation of net gate money at the Brown Shield matches was altered to two-thirds to the challenging association and one-third to the holders. NEW ZEALAND Rl'liliV UNION. Wellington. Last Night. The Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union met to-night. The Dannevirke Sub-Union forwarded an appeal against the decision of the Hawke's Bay Union in removing a disqualification imposed by the sub-union. It was decided that, as the appeal had not been lodged within the stipulated period, the committee could not consider it. The Festival of Empire Sports Committee wrote asking the Union to give some assistance in raising funds for the purpose of having New Zealand represented at the Festival of Empire sports. The amount required, it was stated, was at lea.st .€2OO. —It was decided to donate £5 , ss. The Secretary of the English Association wrote as follows: "Your letter re Maori team .'has been placed before the Union, and we are glad to learn of their loyalty to the amateur code and the success of their recent tour in Australia. My committee, however, do not feel able to arrange for them to tour this country."—lt was decided to inform the Maoris accordingly. In response to a letter written by the New Zealand Union in Oetober last, in reference to the local alteration of law 12, dealing with the ball in touch, the secretary of the English Union wrote stating that his committee recommended that in the event of the ball not alight- , ing at right angles five yards from the , touch line a scrummage should be formed | ten yards out.—lt was decided to adopt i t3ie recommendation, and advise the unions and referees to this effect. "It is going to lead to 'pointing" and all sorts of 'funny business,'" remarked one member of the committee.
