THE WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By..Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Office has issued the following summary and forecast: — The barometer has been very unsteady, rising and falling, especially in the south. The winds were variable, chiefly backing to the north-west. Rain fell in most parts on Wednesday night, but cleared in the south to-day. Cloudy and ehowery weather, however, has continued in the northernmost districts. Present indications are for a change, moderate to strong southerly , winds, and cool showery conditions preceding a short spell of fair weather. The barometer will probably rise everywhere soon.
