BOWLING.
THE SYDNEY TRIP. A meeting was held yesterday afternoon to discuss arrangements in connection with the proposed trip of Taranaki bowlers to Sydney. The names of 12 players—sufficient for three rinks—who are able to make the trip, were handed in as follows:—A. D. Gray, W. F. Brooking, S. Hooper, M. Eraser, H. Goldwater (New Plymouth Club), Wifkie and Hensen (llawera), W. Lambie (Piliama), Dudley and J. McFie (Opimake), F. Newell (West End), and Taylor (Waverley). Several ladies will accompany the party. It is expected that several other bowlers will also make the trip, and those desiring to do so should communicate with Mr A. K. Smart or Mr W. X. Ewing, of the New Plymouth Club, so that berths and accommodation may be secured for them. It is intended to leave Auckland by the Maheno on April 10th, arriving in Sydney on Good Friday, April 14th. The committee has already taken steps to secure accommodation in Sydney, sometimes a difficult task at Easter time, and have alßo asked the Sydney Association to arrange matches for them. An enjoyable trip is assured.
