FIFTEEN HUNDRED BODIES FOUND. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Brisbane. March 20. The chief medical officer at Manila, who has arrived, gives a vivid description of the recent eruption in the island of Taal. The explosion was heard at a distance of 250 miles, and was followed by a tidal wave which swept six miles inland. The inhabitants were exterminated, the only living thing found being a monkey. All the bodies recovered, about 1500, were completely naked. The seismic wave travelled to the, town of Leniery, the country around subsiding a depth of six feet.
