ANTARCTIC EXPLORATION

DR. MAWSON-S EXPEDITION. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 20, 10.30 p.m. London, March 20. Lieutenant Shackleton paid a generous tribute to Dr. Douglas Mawson in connection with Antarctic exploration. He added that Australasia gave the first official help to the 1907 expedition, and hoped the Homeland would not be behind in showing sympathy with the Australian expedition. The newspapers, particularly the Liberal organs, give prominence to the Antarctic expeditions.
