Commenting on the New Zealand drink bill, the Courier says that it proves, consistently with the experience of the past, that improved prosperity leads to greater indulgence. Perhaps tlie energy and enthusiasm concentrated on obtaining votes against licenses mi»ht more profitably be directed less against the licensed traffic than against the liquor itself. New Zealand's experience suggests at all events that the people of the Dominion have not yet arrived at a solution of the drink question.
