THE WEATHER.

The Meteorological Office furnishes the following weather summary and foreoast:—The barometer has fallen steadily in the southern districts and slowly in the north. Moderate to strong northerly and westerly winds have prevailed, and gales at times in parts of the South Island. The weather has, been very warm and hazy, cloudy and unsettled at times, and rain has fallen on the West Coast of the South Island. Present indications are for a falling barometer everywhere. Northerly and westerly winds, strong to gale, are probable generally. Warm and humid'conditions, and increasing cloudiness, preceding rain and stormy weather, are probable in most parts of the Dominion.
