BOWLING.
An interesting match eventuated on ' the New Plymouth green on Saturday afternoon, when the holders of Veale's Feathers (Bnry and Bishop) were called upon to defend their right of possession against A. Smart and Medley. The latter had all the worst of it till tta 10th head, when they made up leeway, and at the 20th head the scores wer« even, 21 each. The challengers got the verdict in the final head by one point, after some close and exciting play, and won the match.
