Biiddo informed a deputation from the Christchurch Fire Board that he would take opinions of electrical experts on the question of the necessity for electrical installations being periodically inspected, and if the opinions upheld the necessity he would see what could be done by introducing legislation giving fire boards power to make periodical inspections and charge fees for the same. Personally, he was of opinion that fire boards should have the power mentioned.
