NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY REPORT. At the Haymarket on Saturday the pig pens were full, and prices obtained were fair, though not quite up to those obtained at recent sales. Slips made 2s 6d to fis, weaners 7s Od to lis, stores 18s to 225, small do. 12s to 15s. At Rahotu on Tuesday there was a fair yarding, with a good attendance bf buyers. The demand was good, everything being sold at the hammer. A nice line of Hohstein weaner heifers, by the imported American bull, sold on account of Mr. R. Morrow, made £5 3s per head. Ordinary weaners made 25s Od to 36s 6d, yearling heifers £2 12s Od, 18-month heifers R,W,B. £3 12s Cd Id £3 las, store cows £2 14s to £3 Cs, forward cows "£4 7s to £4 16s, 18-months steers £3 7s, 20-months steers ( £3 10s, goodcondition working bullocks £6 17s Cd, heavy bulls £6 12s to £C 17s, ordinary bulls £3 2s to £4 17s, stag £7 12s, cull ewes 4s Od. MATTHEWS & BENNETT'S REPORT. Matthews and Bennett report a fair yarding of cattle at their Inglcwood yards on 'Wednesday last. Prices as follows.—Bulls ,-65 Is to £G Os 6d, store cows £,2 5s to £3 17s, 2y 2 -year steers £5 9s, springing heifers £3 15s to £5, springing cows £4 12s Gd to £0 15s, forward cows £4 to £4 15s Cd, fat do. £5 4s fid, 18-months steers £3 7s to £3 12s, good mixed calves 31s to 335, poor do. Ws to £1 Is Gd, good heifer calves 375. Jersey do. £2, fat ewes 12s Od, do. lambs 12s Gd, mixed lambs 8s 3d, wether hoggets Gs 2d. Mr. P.ielby's cows sold from £3 7s to £5 2s Gd. and his heifers from £3 10s to £3 17s Gd. N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE CO.'S RETORT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. (Stratford branch) report:—We held our usual fortnightly sale at our Stratford yards on Tuesday last. The yarding consisted of 850 head of cattle and 675 sheep. We disposed of 450 head of cattle, and the sheep were passed in at the hammer and treated for privately afterward?. Weaners realised from 20s to 31s, yearling steers up to 5.35, yearling to 15-iiionth steers up to 58s, IS to 20-month steers 58s to 70s Gd, 2-year-old .steers 74s to 83s, 2'/ 2 to 3-year-old steers to 05s, store cows 46s to 775, fresh cows 86s to 07s Oil, fat cows 98s to 105s, hulls from 84s to 110s, soundmouth ewes Us, 4 and G-tooth ewes to 12s Od. Our next sheep sale will be held on Wednesday, 22nd hist., and our next cattle sale on the 28th inst.. both in our yards at Stratford.

A small entry of veal calves made 4s fid to 525. Store cattle—Yearling- 25s and 375, 15 to IS-months 40s to 445, two-year steers £3 Kis, two-year heifers £2' 15s, threeyear steers £5 10s to £0 ss, three-year heifers £4 10s to £0 ss, dry cows' 33s to £3 14s. Dairy cows sold' at £3 Cs to £9 ss. Pigs—Choppers made up to COs, large baconers 42s (id to 475, smaller 35s to 40s (equal to 3'/ 2 d to 4d per lb), large porkers 26s to 345, smaller 22s to 25s (equal to 4<l to 4y 2 d per lb). The entry

of store pigs was beyond the demand, and the sale was an exceptionally poor one, a large number being passed in. Large stores made 18s to 225, smaller 14s to 17s, weaners 2s Cd to 6s. BURNSJDE.

' At Buniside 240 fat cattle were yarded. This was far above the average yarding, and consequently prices eased 10s, and in some cases 20s per head. Prime bullocks made £!) 10s to £lO 15s, extra choice to £l2 6s, medium £8 to £9, best cows and heifers £7 to £B, extra choice to £9 ss, medium £5 to £C 10s.

Fat sheep—4429 were penned, which constitutes a record. Owing to the continuous dry weather farmers are forced to sell a number of their sheep, with the result that the bulk of the yarding comprised half-finished ewes with a few pens of extra good wethers. Prices for wethers declined Is to Is Cd, and for ewes 2s to 2s 6d. Prime wethers made 16s to ISs 6d, extra to 22s 9d, medium 13s Cd to 15s, inferior lis to lis fid, best ewes 12s fid to 14s Cd, extra to 16s Cd, medium 9s to 10s Cd, inferior 5s Od to 7s Cd.

Fat lambs—33Bß were penned—another record. The quality was only medium, and prices declined Is. Best made 12s 9d to 13s 9d, extra to 14s Od, medium lis 6d to 12s, inferior 9s to 10s 6d. Pigs—l 37 were yarded. Porkers and baconers were in good demand, and sold up to last week's rates, but young pigs were very dull of sale. Suckers brought 3s Od to 6s 6d, slips 8s to. 13s Cd, porkers 35s to 42s Od, light baconers 4s to ss, heavy 48s to 57s Cd. MARTON.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Marton sale as follows: Rape lambs 8s Bd, medium lambs 5s to 6s Bd, 2-tooth wethers lis lOd to 12s 9d, small 2-tooth wethers 9s Od, s.m. elves 5s 6d to 7s 9d, 4 and 5-year ewes lis, old ewes Is to ss, fat ewes 13s 4d, Romney rams £1 is to £2 2s, S.D. rams' 16s. Only one pen for forward cows was yarded and sold at £3 15s. JOHNSONVILLE. Abraham and Williams Ltd., Teport on their Johnsonville sale as follows: — We offered a good yarding of sheep and cattle to a large attendance of buyers. Everything sold readily at late quotations. Best bullocks £9 5s to £!) 12s fid, lighter £8 7s Od to £8 10s, light £8 to £8 2s 6d, vealers 32s to 335; good wethers 15s 3d to 15s Od, prime heavy ewes. 15s, medium ewes 13s 3d to 14s, plain light 12s Od to 12s 9d, good woolly lambs 12s, plain 10s fid, prime shorn 10s Cd to lis, plain 9s Od to 10s.
