London, March 15. , The American visible wheat supply is 07,738,000 bushels.
L. A. XOLAX AND CO.'S REPORT.
■Messrs. L, A. Nolan and Co.'s report for the week ending Wednesday, March 15, is as follows: Poultry—Wc had a large entry on Saturday, all pens being well filled. There was a good attendance of buyers, and prices were about the same as last week. We quote: Hens, Is 2d to Is 9d; pullets, purebred, 3s Od; crossbred, Is B<l to 2s Id;' cockerels, Is od to 2s Id; roosters; Is 6d to Is 9d; ducklings, small, Od; ducks. Is 4d to Is lid; Muscovy ducks, 5s Od pair; geese, 2s Od to 3s 9d. In the mart a large quantity of furnituro and plants was quitted at satisfactory prices. Fruit. —The market is showing an improvement in all lines, excepting peaches,' of which there is an over supply. Prices are as follows:—Peaches, best, 4s t» 4s Od; others, is 3d to 4s; pears, dessert, as to 5s 0d; cookers, 4s to 4s Od; tomatoes, 2s 6d to 3a 3d; apples, dessert, 3s to 5s 9d; grapes, best, 10'/ 2 d to lid; cucumbers, k Od to 3s 6d; watermelons, Id lb; kumeras, 1 V4<l lb; oranges, Os to Os Od. WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT.
Mart—On Saturday last we had a very j large entry of poultry of all classes. Our pens were overfilled, a quantity of the birds having to be sold in crates. A nice line of ol purebred brown Leghorn pullets from one grower was much admired. Considering the quantity available (over 400 birds being penned), the prices throughout were very satisfactory, ranging as follows:—Pullets, p.b. brown Leghorns 3s to 3s Od, white Leghorns 2s Id to 3s, others, small and erossbrods, Is Cd tb Is lid; hens, good laving and good fat Is B<l to Is lid; old Is 3d to Is 5(1; ducks, table Is 9d to 2s, old Is 3d to Is 6d; cockerels, small ls 3d to Is Cd, good table 2s 2d; bantanis, Is Id; ducklings, Is Bd; hen and chicks 2s ' (id to 3s (id; purebred drakes, as; chicks, 5%d to Bd. Sundries sold at usual rates. Plants—We cleared a large quantity of choice pot plants at the mart at from 2s Cd to (Ss each.. ;
Fruit—tSuppliea arriving during the week have been fairly heavy. Fresh shipment of bananas and Island oranges arrived, the former in over-ripe condition, due to an enforced stay in Auckland through no boat running on Friday last. Pears are in short supply and are looked for. The later peaches are now arriving j n large quantities and are selling cheap. A noticeable price during the week was 7s 3d for 241b boxes of Bon Crcticn pears, practically the last of the season. Other prices as follows: Grapes, Wangaimi Bd, Nelson o%d to 9d; tomatoes, Is 9(1 to 2s 9d; plums, small boxes, 2s fid to 3s 3d; Buerre Bosc pears us; Cox Orange apples, Os 9d to 7s Od; Jonathans 6s Od to 7s, cookers 4s 9d to 5s 3d; choice red peaches, 7s, good 5s Od to Os, seconds 3s to 4s 9d; Duchesse pears (24's) 5s 9<l; Adams' Pearmain apples (24's), 4s 3d; Bon Crctien pears, 7s 3d; Cape gooseberries, 5%d to Od lb; Buerre D'eil pears, 9s 3d to 10s 3d, Capeamont pears 10s !)d, Buerre Clairgeans and Bcrgamots (is 3d to Os 0d; Island oranges, best 7s to 7s Od; Island bananas, 8s to 8s 0d; passions, good locals. 3s, Auckland (poor) Is to Is Od; lemons, 5s to 7s 0d; water melons, os 6d cwt. Advices just received advise heavy consignment of peaches to arrive on Friday.
