JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. WON BY INGLEWOOD. At the Recreation Grounds yesterday Inglewood defeated Fire Brigade . by ; eight wjekets' and four runs, and as a result the junior cup follows the senior cup to inglewood, the club thus repeating its performance of the season before last. Last year the juniors were run-ners-up to Fire Brigade, whilst the seniors were at the bottom of the list. They will receive congratulations from all good sports for this year's fine performance. , , ,• . In the match- yesterday, Fire Brigade went first to the wickets. Five wickets were down for 27, of which Bray had made 14, when I. Bullot- improved matters by hitting up 28, and with the assistance of 10 from sKoch. and a useful six (not out) from Iliggs, the total reached 77. Inglewood also made a bad start, losing three wickets for 21, of which J. Nicholls had made 19. . This player cpntinued batting well, and with •the assistance of Quickfall, brought the score to 55 before the latter' was .foolishly run out after scoring 17. Nicholls increased, his score to 37 before Billing scattered his timber. J. Harris (13) was the only, other to make a stand, and the innings closed for 94. With an hour to play, Fire Brigade went to the'wickets, and Gunson (13), I. Bullot (20., not out), and L. Bullot (18 not out) quickly hit up 00 for three wickets, at which the innings was declared closed: To win,they had to get Inglewood out for 43. in about 20 minutes, but Inglewood' score/1 47 for ,thc loss of two wickets, and Avon by eight wickets and two Aius. Bury and Perham, and resulted in a, win for the latter by one wicket and 28 runs. For the winners Price, with 30, was top scorer, and for the losers Gwillirii made 44, including two sixes. Williams, with five wickets for 33, and Ooddard. five for . 20, bowled best for their respective sides. A feature of the match was Price's wic-ket-keeping, stumping two and catching two.
