Mr. Deakin, speaking at Marlborough, predicted that unification would take place within three years if the referenda proposals were carried, and that the State Parliaments would be reduced to the position of glorified shire councils. CONDEMNED BY COMMERCIAL MEN. Sydney, March 16. The Chamber of Commerce adopted a series of resolutions condemnatory of the referenda.
