MISS AMY CASTLES. The audience which will greet Miss Amy Castles at her first concert on Alon- / day night next bids fair to be a very large one. Commenting on her first concert in Dunedin, the (Hugo Daily Times stated that "the' pleasurable anticipation of music lovers respecting her re-appearance in Dunedin was amply realised, the opening concert proving from beginning to end a pronounced success, and reaching a high level of artistic excellence. As a concert singer, Miss Castles possesses all the qualities indispensable to those who would excel, and her engaging personality enhances the impression created by her fine proficiency hi the vocal art. As for her voice, its natural beauty and purity of tone would commend it under any circumstances, and used as it is with all the knowledge, skill and confidence acquired by the best training and experience, its charm is undeniable and exceptional. .'She has associated with her a trio of very efficient and interesting artists." They comprise a complete concert party, and include Heir Alex. Camphausen, a basso-baritone, with a Continetal reputation; Herr Louis Hattenbach, one of the finest 'cellist players; and Mr. Wm. Conway, a young Victorian, who is a remarkable pianist. The box plan opened «t .Collier's on Tuesday morning, the booking being very brrsk. The programme is to include many popular selections by special request, and the concert should be one of the best ever produced in New Plymouth.
