AUCKLAND SESSIONS. By Telegraph.—Pre* Association. Auckland, Wednesday. In the Supreme; Court to-day, Mr. ( Justice Cooper sentenced Evelyn V. Kitson, charged with false pretences, forgery, and attempting to commit suicide, to reformatory treatment not exceeding seven years. Accused had posed in different parts of the Dominion as a descendant of the British aristocracy, and gained admission to leading social circles. and entering and theft, was sentenced with false pretences, forgery and uttering was ordered Ave years' detention for reformatory treatment. GISBORNE SESSIONS. Gisborne, Last Night. The Supreme Court criminal sessions concluded to-day. James Behash, charged with rape, was found "not guilty." Albert Sweeney, charged with breaking an dentcring and theft, was sentenced to two years' imprisonment; John Lemmon, for breaking and entering and theft, got 12 months; Samuel Wadsworth, .chnrged with receiving stolen property, twelve months. William Third, who pleaded guilty in the lower court to theft of £4O, was admitted to probation for three years conditional on his paying the amount by 15s weekly and abstaining from intoxicants and horseracing. Pua Babbington, a Maori, on two charges of theft of cattle, was admitted to four years' probation, and ordered to pay £B, the value of the cattle and £25 costs of prosecution by monthly instalments of 10s. On the second;charge he was ordered to come up for sentence. Ngnraroa Nuku Nuku on- a charge of cattle-stealing, was released on three years' probation, and ordered to pay £4, the cost of the cattle, and £2O costs of the prosecution in monthly instalments of 10.
