FAVORED NATION TREATMENT
CANADA'S ACTION JUSTIFIED. By Gable. —Press Association.—Copyright. Received 15, 11.10 p.m. London, March 15. The Times says it is not surprised at Sir Wilfrid Laurier's agitation for Canada's liberation from the Motherland's most favored nation treaties, in order to seek facilities to enter into arrangements with the other Dominions or with foreign countries offering satisfactory reciprocal terms. This suggests the recognition of the imperative need for adequate machinery to donl with Imperial questions, and unless such machinery is provided, different portions of the Empire are in danger of adopting partial solutions which will possibly be difficult to mutually reconcile. Though the time is perhaps not ripe for such a comprehensive schemes, Sir Joseph Ward's matter has engaged the growing attention of the Motherland.
