SELLING A RAILWAY TICKET. By Telegraph—Press AsMohtiM. Auckland, March 13. Thomas Dorau and Mrs. Bennie Wright were charged at the Police Court to-day with selling tickets on railways, a portion of which had already been used for part of the journey for which it was issued. It was explained by SubInspector Hendry that the male defendant had gone down to Wellington from Auckland, and that while there he lost the return half of his ticket. At the suggestion of the female defendant he then bought a return ticket to Auckland, and sold the unused portion in Auckland through an advertisement. Defendants said they ww not awaTe they were doing wrong in selling part of the ticket. A fine of £2 was imposed, with costs.
