A deputation of butter manufacturers and shippers asked Mr. Fisher to remove the extremely severe penalties for short weight, stating that butter was sold in London by weight delivered. Mr. Fishet stated that the Department's desire was to assist and protect honest traders, and not to embarrass them. He would submit the representations to the Minister of Customs.
