The Rosamond, which arrived from Onehunga on Sunday, yesterday loaded 41 tons of cargo, including 200 boxes ■of butter (for transhipment to Dunedin) and 103 sacks of hides, and sailed later for Wellington. THE RARAWA. The Rarawa yesterday morning brought 171 tons of cargo, including 12 tons of manure, 19 tons of cement, 22 tons of sugar,: 2 tons of flour,' and 760 cases of fruit. Spme 2000 ft of timber was also brought. GERTIE DUE TO-DAY. The small steamer Gertie left Westport yesterday -for New Plymouth with cargo of coal, aiid is due this afternoon. THE WELLINGTON-LYTTELTON SERVICE. A rumor is in the air (says a message from Dunedin), but confirmation has not assumed definite shape, that a new turbine ferry steamer will be placed in the Lyttelton-Wellington service, so that daily connection can be made between the second express from the south and the North Island express trains. Should the steamer be constructed, she and the Mapri will conduct the ferry service. The only definite official information available is that no immediate change in the direction referred to will take place. On March 20 the Mararoa will revert to her old running, connecting with the first express from the south. OVERSEA, VESSEIS.
