! NOLAN AND 00. - S REPORT. \ Messrs L. A. Nolan and Co. report for I the week ending Bth inst.:— I Poultry.—On Saturday we had a good entry. Trices were much better than those of the previous week. Forward pullets • are realising high prices. We quote: lions (ordinary) Is 3d to la lOd, poor Is Id to 1b 4d, cockerels Sd to 2s. (according to size), roosters Is to 2s, pullets 3s 6d to 3s !)d, ducks ,1s 4d to 2s. We have a good demand for fat table birds. Jn the mart a large quantity of household furniture ami vegetables realised satisfactory prices. Fruit—During the past week the market has been very steady, with the exception of tomatoes, which, owing to the large supplies), sold at lower rates. Teaches are pears are finding a good market. We quote: Apples, dessert 3s to 3s (id, cookers 2s 3d to 2s 9d; pears, dessert 3s 6d to 4s 6d, cookers 3s to 3s 6d; peaches, good 3s Od to 4s Gd, other 3s to 3s 9d; tomatoes, Is Cd to 2s 9d; grapes, Black Hamburgs, best 10'/ 2 d, others s'/ a d to Sd; rock melons, Is 6d each; water melons, 12s Od cwt.; cucumbers, 3s Od; Island bananas, 9s !)d to 10s Gd. We have Island oranges arriving to-day (Friday). WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. .Mart.—On Saturday last we had a good entry of poultry, notwithstanding the rough weather. Prices throughout were good for the class of birds penned. Prices were as follows: Pullets, small, Is lOd to 2s 8d; good young hens, 2s to 2s 8d; hens, old, Is 3d to Is 8d; purebred Buff cockerel, 7«; pure-bred Silver Wyandotte, 4s; cockerels, small lOd to Is 3d, others .Is !)d; ducks, Is lid. I Furniture and sundries at usual rates.

Fruit.—.Supplies during the week have eased somewhat, the main supplies now i coming from Nelson once a week. Peaches arrived in large quantities, some 400 cases arriving on Friday last. Pears, Bon Cretien, done; apples, small boxes 2s 9d to 4s, bushel cases '6s 6d to 8s 6d; tomatoes, ISLb Is 9d to 2s 9d, 241b 2s 6d to 3s 9d; passions, poor 2s 6d to 3s fid; peaches, choicest 5s Gd to 6s Gd, prime 4s to 4s 6d, good 3s 6d to 4s, poor 2s 6d to 3s; cooking apples 4s Gd to 5s 6d; 241b boxes pears 3s 3d to 4s; grapes, wet 7'/„d to 9d; pears, large cases to 9s; oranges, repacked 12s to 12s 6d; plums 4s Gd to ss; Cape gooseberries 6'/od; bananas, Fiji 10s to 10s Gd; water melons 7a fid case. Fresh shipment of Island oranges and bananas is due on Saturday, and will reach a ready market. LOCAL MARKETS. Butchers" Meat—Beef: Sirloin, 6d; prime ribs, sd; rump steak, fid; beef, from 3d to 4d; corned beef, from 4d to 5d per lb. Mutton: Legs, fid; chops, Gd; lojn, Cd; shoulders, Gd; necks, 3d per lb. Pork: Fresh, fid per lb. Veal, 3d to 5d per lb. Sausages: Beef 4d, pork Bd. Lamb: Legs, fid; forcquarters, 3s. Fowls, 5s to 6s per pair; ducks, 6s per pair.
