PETROLEUM NEWS.
THE TARANAKI COMPANY. The Taranaki Petroleum Company's No. 3 well is now at a depth of 3010 ft., and indications arc excellent Both this well and No. 2 well are flowing oil. At No. 5 drillng goe3 on steadly. The pressure of gas was strong yesterday, though less than on the previous day. There were large numbers of visitors at the works yesterday, including several residents of Ngaere, who were picnicking on the beach.
