HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS
A SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. There was a large attendance of relatives and friends of scholars at the High School sports yesterday. The races were well contested, and several records of the previous year were broken. Owing to the lateness of the hour, the presentation of prizes, as well as two races, had to he deleted from the programme. Results: lOOvds (under 15 years).—G. Chong 1, A. Little 2, K. Jury 3. Pott 3. Afternoon tea was provided and served by girl pupils. At the end- of the programme cheers were given for the visitors and officials, and Mr. MacDiarmid announced the welcome news to the scholars that to-day is to be a holiday.
