FIRE BRIGADES' ASSOCIATION
FINAL RESULTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hokitika, Last Night. At the fire brigades' demonstration the shield competitions resulted:— Champion aggregate shield.—Timaru, 44 points; Wanganui and Napier, 34 each; Dunedin City, 32. High pressure shield.—Timaru, 38 points; Wanganui, 32; Dunedin City, 28; Invercargill, 20. Manual engine shield.—Dunedin City, 30 points; Napier, 20; Timaru, 22; Masterton, 18%. The Mcreweathcr shield was won by Timaru, and the Speight shield by Carterton. Timaru also won the medals presented by Miss Moore and Speight and Co., and the special presented by the Supply Co. Dunedin City won Speight and Co.'s gold medal for the ladder race.
