AWFUL FATE OF NAVVIES. Rp Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 9, 10.20 p.m. Paris, March 9. Twenty navvies in a tunnel at Vincenncs crossed the line to escape the smoke from an up train. The noise prevented them detecting a down train. Half the gang threw themselves flat between the lines, but the train swept the rest away. Two were killed, eight desperately wounded, and some mortally ' wounded.
